Located just west of the Wilderness Study Area and just southeast of ChokeCherry is a small parking area provided by the BLM. The parking lot itself is just a hop from the Big Dunes on the West End. Access is a sandy little road that winds through the sagebrush for about a half mile from Egin-Hamer road. At this time the road is whoopdeedooed out and more than a little sandy. If you aren't accustomed to driving in the sand and especially if you don't have a good sized 4x4 with good suspension, it's not advisable to attempt to drive to the parking area.

The access road it located about four miles from the end of the pavement just past the cattleguard and BLM sign. You can see two outfits parked there. Most people don't care to take the whoopdeedoos to the parking area so they just park off of the Egin - Hamer road.
This is the beginning of the road to the parking area and that is one good looking Chevy.

You can see the "road" winding through the brush with a few shallow woops. Believe me when I tell you that this is the smooth part of the road.
This is the parking "area".
Nice view of the Big Dunes...
...and the smaller dunes to the east.
