King of the Hill

The last part of September and on into October here at the St. Anthony Sand Dunes is usually a big crap-shoot weatherwise. The weather was wet and windy with temps hovering around the fourty degree mark. I really dug the way that worked out for the our first annual and very UNOFFICIAL hill climb on Choke. I mean, if you are going for the title of King there should be some sort of weeding out process to prove worthiness. All you have to do is get to the Saint Anthony Sand Dunes, get yourself to Chokecherry, then be the first one up the hill every time. Simple. This year's beginnings were pretty humble as only BooFoo and his wife, HotRocks, Chance1488, the dudes from Dune Excursions, and DuneRatt showed up. The weather climb conditions were super tough and really tested riders and machines. Chance1488 was awarded the title as he proved time and again that he had the baddest machine. All in All it was a great time and a good first run to see how something like this would work out. We're definately going to show up again next year and hope to see more of the serious duners crowd there.
