The Fremont County Off -Road Enforcement Team

Like all red - blooded Americans, I don't like the thought of someone telling me what or how I'm going to do something. Especially while I'm out turning it loose, recreating, and finding my own little bit of Freedom. However, gone are the days when a busy day at the dunes was all of 30 riders. That train has left the station and the dunes have become a much busier and more dangerous place. Personally, I think a person takes it on their own head when they "push the envelope" and what happens to them is their own dillio. The real problems start when innocent bystanders get hurt in the process. With all of the notoriety and traffic that the St. Anthony Dunes are generating these days, there has to be some kind of authority and rules to keep people from hurting each other and to enforce rules that minimize the impact on the local environment. Like stopping people from throwing their stupid beer cans down Choke. And you know who you are...ya worthless parasites...wanna get the dunes closed, ya brainless muffinheads?! Anyway, I digress. This (usually thankless) job has been thrust upon the Fremont County Sheriff's Department. Now, riding the Dunes 24-7 may sound like a dream job but personally, I wouldn't want it and I'm glad that they get er done. I'm also glad that they are serious about their job which is keeping people safe, going out and retrieving the few unfortunate accident victims, and enforcing the rules with the purpose of keeping our favorite riding area open. This page is to let people know that the Fremont County ORET is out there for them and the St. Anthony Dunes. If you feel the way that I do, stop by the Ratt's Nest Forum and tell them thanks.

This is the brand new ORET Funco Car fully-loaded for bear.

If you get a ride in this bad boy, chances are you won't be enjoying it.

Fully - loaded with nav and communications gear.

This is the old and busted POS that they used to use. NOT a reliable recovery vehicle!

The day they rolled the new Funco car out there was a PR show at the Egin Lakes.

You wouldn't enjoy a ride in either one of these either.

A ride in this might make a busted pelvis worth it.....NOT! I don't think I ever want Life-Flight coming for me. But you can join a program for $50 a year that will pay for any ride you do have to take on Life-Flight and that includes your family.

The Augusta helicopter was made by the Italians for Alpine recoveries in the high mountains. It has two turbine engines and will fly on one.

The crew chief and med tech of the Life-Flight crew. You can tell they love their jobs!

It is equipped for all-weather flying.

Its also fully equipped to keep someone alive enroute to the emergency center.

This unassuming guy is one of the pilots giving an EMS lecuture to the local emercency people.
