It was such a great looking afternoon that I gassed up the Grizz, took the camera, and went for a ride on the dunes. The snow wasn't deep enought to stop the Grizz in 4 wheel but it did work it pretty hard. The snow was about 3-5 inches on average with a light top and crusty underneath. There are some shots of the Closure postings at the bottom of the page.
Looking west from my backyard, you can see Crapo's and all of the others west of that. The Closure starts there and includes EVERYTHING that is in sagebrush.

This and the next few photos are near the Oasis trailhead.

This and then next few photos are about mid-way between the Oasis trailhead and Crapo's seen in the upper left.

This is looking up towards the Cedars.

The North side of Crapo's.

Looking up the South side of Crapo's. Notice the barely visible orange Closure marker just up and left of center.

Looking at Crapo's from the parking lot.

Looking back eastward from the Run Hill.

One tired dune dog.

The Egin Lakes blanketed in snow.

Looking west from the Run Hill.(All closed to any human entry)

Only the OPEN DUNES east of Crapo's to the Red Road are open.

The overall closure area.

Notice that it says to ALL HUMAN ENTRY. This means just hiking out into these areas will earn you a hefty fine and believe me the BLM is serious about it. They have guys in pickups with binoculars and even a helicopter that patrols.
