The East Stairway is a fun little hoot of a ride. The dunes are pretty consistent and run perpendicular to the climb. This makes a pretty awsome set of jumps going up and down, depending upon how fast you want to take it. Above the dunes is a really good moto trail that leads up to the Elk Fence. Usually, the prevailing winds will blow a sharp crest on the northern sides (like all of the dunes here) but recent weather had left them rounded off creating a really fast ride up and down.

At the bottom of the Stairway, looking northward and upward. Two of the guys that I ride with are scooting up to the top for another run down. These were taken after the run back down. We had to give it another go or two.

Those two dots at the top are my friends starting back down.

The dunes end just over the top up there and the trail through the sage and up to the Elk Fence begins.

At the top of the trail looking back down to the southwest. Can't see them here, but there are some lavvies in the trail....not to many to make a good hard and fast ATV ride, though.

Looking at the backside of Crapo's and the BLM campground, southeasterly, through the Elk Fence.

The eastward view. Once in a while you will see a cow or bull elk. This trip there was one out a ways and still in velvet. The cam I had didn't take a very good pic of it though.

Looking northwest towards Hansen's Hole and the Dugway road.

Looking westward. Those farthest dunes are Chokecherry and the gang.
