One of the biggest attractions and the destination for many who come to the St. Anthony Dunes, mighty Chokecherry Ridge towers over the sagebrush and lava rock. I've included more pics for Choke than most other pages but you have to admit that its quite a sight. The trail to Choke from the east isn't difficult and you can usually make it to the top by going around to the south. However, to climb Choke takes a machine packin some poop so if you go down you might not come back up. My stock KFX400 won't pack my stocky frame up the hill but with some mods and better paddles it might get the job done.

Looking east across the top of Choke, the Tetons rise in the background. One of the most photographed mountain ranges in the world. As my hero Forrest Gump would say, "That's all I have to say about that."

Looking east and down toward the bottom of the ridge, a lone quad hits a less traveled part of the hill that still retains the original shape of Chokecherry ridge.

Two more descend after a successful climb.

The main run on Choke has a little more running room at the bottom and, after a lot of climbers, isn't quite as steep as it originally was. This run is clear of bushes after so much traffic. You take your chances when climbing to the east.

Looking west from the top of Choke at the farms of Hamer, two Duners take a break. That trail down there, leads to Devil's Hill.

Front end starting to come up.

More action....

...and more...

Cool just to watch the action...

Looking south at the wall of sand...

...south running to southeast there is huge sand ridge with a good run from the top of Choke...

Trusty steeds. The Kawi is mine and the others belong to a guy and his sons from Utah who let me ride along with them. NOT good to ride alone, especially this far west.

Looking northeast at the Juniper. The trail has a lot of lava rock.
