You can wind your way up to the Cedars from the south on trails that lie directly behind Crapo's Hill or from the east and south east on various trails from the Oasis or Sandhills Resort. The trail is made of irregular shaped dunes and a bit of lava rock. The ride there isn't what I'd call awsome but its a good ride with a nice destination. Sharp sand pockets in the higher dunes call for some caution if you aren't familiar with the ride. These pics were taken after some rather wet weather.

Looking southwesterly towards Crapo's and the BLM parking lot.

Looking south at the cedars. A nice place to eat lunch or take a hike.

Looking east at more cedars.

Looking north. The elk fence is about a third mile up the hill.

Notice the presence of the shy and elusive Dune Dog. Sightings are rare. I think this one has an overpowering craving for a MilkBone.
